Kids everywhere throughout the world expect the wonderment and delight of the Christmas season with family customs that are gone on from era to generation. With a little creativity, and a whole lot of heart and love, children or youngsters with special kids should be included in family and community activities.
For many of us, holiday occasions can become saturated with customs and traditions. It is important for us as parents, guardians and extended family members to think through prior to the events or occasions to ensure that inclusiveness is built in for all.
Consider ways your child with special needs can participate in preparing Christmas Cards to send out. Give them plenty of opportunities to choose for example how to docorate the envelopes with handprints or glitter.

While beautifications may be unbalanced and treats may not look great, keep in mind your objective is for your youngster to anticipate tuning in the occasion.
Occasion cards provides another incredible opportunity for inclusion. When you get cards via the post office, make it your child's responsibility to collect and open them. You can tie a string starting with one end of the divider then onto the next (at your youngster's stature) and have your tyke put the cards on the string.
Then there is the ever versatile glitter! What child can ever get enough glitter? Light up your child's eyes by by bringing them festive glitters, cards, scissors, paints, etc. Let them discover their artistic talents for themselves. Clean up together afterwards can become a game... What a special treat!
